Description
CYK Water-Based Polyurethane Gloss is a clear protective sealer designed to seal, protect and enhance finished art, craft, furniture and décor projects. It creates a smooth, transparent gloss finish while helping protect the underlying surface from everyday dust, handling and general wear.
Its water-based formula makes it a convenient choice for artists, crafters, DIY enthusiasts and furniture-revamp projects.
Suitable Surfaces
CYK Polyurethane Gloss can be used as a protective topcoat on a variety of properly prepared surfaces, including:
- Wood and wooden furniture
- MDF and MDF décor
- Painted furniture
- Chalk-painted surfaces
- Acrylic-painted projects
- Concrete décor and concrete art
- Cement décor pieces
- Texture art
- Decoupage projects
- DIY craft projects
- Home décor items
- Decorative art pieces
- Furniture makeover and revamp projects
How to Use
1. Prepare the Surface
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose particles. Paint or decorative finishes should be completely dry before applying the sealer.
2. Mix Gently
Stir the product gently and thoroughly before use. Avoid vigorous shaking, as this can create bubbles.
3. Apply a Thin Coat
Apply a thin, even layer using a clean synthetic brush or suitable applicator. Work in one direction and avoid repeatedly brushing over areas that have already started to dry.
4. Allow to Dry
Allow the first coat to dry completely before applying another coat. Drying time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, surface porosity and the thickness of the coat.
5. Apply Additional Coats
For enhanced protection and a more uniform gloss finish, apply additional thin coats as required. Allow each coat to dry properly before applying the next.
For Concrete & Cement Art
CYK Polyurethane Gloss can also be used as a clear protective sealer for properly cured and dry concrete or cement décor and artwork. Because concrete is porous, the surface should be clean and completely dry before application. A small test area is recommended before coating the entire project.
Important Tips
- Always apply thin, even coats for the best finish.
- Do not apply over wet or uncured paint, concrete or other finishes.
- Keep the surface protected from dust and moisture while drying.
- Test on a small area first, especially on unfamiliar surfaces.
- For exterior, continuous-water exposure or heavy-duty applications, test suitability before use.
- Not intended to make a surface completely waterproof or suitable for permanent water immersion unless specifically tested and confirmed for that application.
